Mrs. Jane Mathias is in her twenty-seventh year in the High School Counseling Department and works with sophomores, juniors, and seniors. What she enjoys most is getting to know each student, and using her knowledge of colleges to help each of them find the right "fit" institution to pursue the next stage of her education. She is involved in the WNY counseling groups and the National Association for College Admission Counseling at the state and national levels. She served in the New York State organization's presidential cycle 2013-2016, and was an executive board member for eight years. She presents annually at the state conference in June, and also enjoyed her role as a mentor to new counselors at the NYSACAC Summer Institute 2016-2018.
Mrs. Kristin Mansour joined the High School Counseling team in the fall of 2016. Having been an English teacher at Nardin for 12 years, she knew this position would be a great fit. Having worked closely with the students in the classroom, as Senior Class Dean, and as a moderator for several clubs and activities, Kristin was passionate about working with the freshmen, their teachers, and their families. She loves helping the freshmen feel like a part of the Nardin community and making sure their foundation is strong and secure.
Mary Kate McDermott '93 joined the Guidance team in 2020. She began her career at Nardin as a member of the English Department faculty and served as Senior Class Dean. A twenty year veteran teacher, Mrs. McDermott is truly enjoying her role as a Nardin counselor. As a proud alumna, she is delighted to share her experience as a Gator with her students, as well as her daughter who is a member of the class of 2024. In addition to counseling, Mrs. McDermott is co-moderator of the Book Swap club, an opportunity she enjoys as a former AP English Literature teacher.
