Head Squash Pro Hired!

Since we last saw you all, much has changed here at the Athletic Center. Without further ado and on behalf of Nardin Academy and the Athletic Center, we are excited and honored to announce the recent hiring of Pamicka Marinello-Modrzynski, Nardin Academy’s new Head Squash Professional and Nardin Squash Head Coach.

Pamicka Marinello-Modrzynski is a Buffalo native who began playing squash as a freshman at Nichols School.  Over the past seven years, Pamicka has worked with many private and public school teams including Nardin Academy, Nichols School, the GOW School and City Honors.  Most recently, she spent three years as the Head Squash Pro at the Saturn Club. Pamicka is a certified Level 1 Squash Coach and has experience coaching children in elementary, middle, and high school. Since 2011, Pamicka has accumulated twelve BSRA championship titles in both singles and doubles, including the “Grand Slam” in 2017.

In her free time Pamicka loves to play golf, hanging out on the beach, and playing with her dog, Archer, and cats, Sterling and Casper.

Squash Court Reservations

Please book all court reservations using Clublocker. The Athletic Center will have hourly* slots (i.e. 1-2PM, 2-3PM). When booking on Clublocker, you MUST note if you are bringing a guest or playing with a partner and record their name on the reservation, including family members. Failure to do so will result in that guest or playing partner being denied access. A max of two (2) two players per court.

*Reservations will be 50 Minutes to provide time for departure and staff to sanitize the court.

Return to Play

As you begin to make your way back to the Nardin Academy Athletic Center, we ask that you carefully read over our recently updated extended Facility Usage Guidelines below. Much of this advice and content derives from the US Squash organization’s website and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including countless local, regional, and national conversations headed by leaders in the great sport of squash.

Facility Usage Guidelines (Covid-19):

General Facility:

The following protocols have been put in place for all guests of the Nardin Community Athletic Complex & Nardin Academy Athletic Center facilities:

  • If accessing the Nardin Academy Athletic Center, upon entering the facility, all individuals  must sign-in and have their temperature read using a non-contact infrared thermometer, including the below five (5) questions read to them. Anyone reading 100.0 or higher will not be permitted into the facility. 
    • Question 1: Have you had any symptoms of COVID-19 over the past 14 days?
    • Question 2: Have you had a positive test for COVID-19 during the past 14 days?
    • Question 3: Have you been in close contact with anyone who has either had a positive test for COVID-19 or is suspected of having COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
    • Question 4: During the last 14 days, have you travelled outside of New York State to other than one of the contiguous states identified by the Governor?
    • Question 5: If you travelled outside of NYS to other than one of the contiguous states identified by the Governor, have you complied with either the new testing requirements or the quarantine period?
  • All individuals and users of the facilities must wear an approved PPE face mask at all times, when entering, throughout, and exiting the facilities.
    • Montante Family Squash Center: An approved PPE face mask must be worn at all times both on and off the court, this includes during competition, league play, lessons, clinics, 1v1 match play, solo hitting, and all types of play.
    • Sisters Field: Individuals must wear acceptable face coverings at all times.
    • Outdoor Turf Fields: Individuals must wear acceptable face coverings at all times.
  • Maximum of 25 individuals inside the squash area or turf field area.
  • No cash transactions. Please use RecDesk to access your account and pay your balance prior to your reservation, lesson (Online Payment Form), or clinic date.
  • No congregating in the lobby. Drop off only.
  • Please do not enter the facility/outdoor complex more than 5 minutes prior to your reservation, clinic, or lesson. For turf reservations, your group organizer or coach may enter the facility 10 minutes before your group's reservation.
    • Please be courteous of the next group coming on, and immediately exit the facility following the conclusion of your session. Tip: Use the last 5-8 minutes of practice to break down the group and gather all items off the fields
  • No spectators or additional guests are allowed inside the Nardin Academy Athletic Center. For squash members, one guest per member is permitted. Squash Guest fee must be paid online prior to arrival.
  • No locker room or shower access. Restrooms are available.
  • No towel services. Individuals should bring their own personal towels and keep them within their athletic bags.
  • Water fountains are for personal water bottle use only.
  • No rental equipment or used equipment is to be distributed by NAAC staff including racquets, balls, protective eyewear, etc.
  • You must practice safe social-distancing practices while on/in all Nardin Academy athletic facility properties.

Montante Family Squash Center:

  • Guest Policy - Member play only. One guest per member is permitted. Squash Guest fee must be paid online prior to arrival, using RecDesk (CLICK HERE)
  • Please arrive on time for your reserved court session and plan to leave shortly following to allow for our staff to disinfect the space in a timely manner for the next user.
  • Masks are required to be worn over the mouth and nose at all times, both on and off the court.
  • The Montante Family Squash Center is limited to a maximum of 25 individuals at one time.
  • Please minimize contact with other players as much as possible.
  • Only two (2) people are allowed on court at any time.
  • Players must bring their own balls, racquet, protective eyewear, towels, and any additional required equipment and gear.
  • Athletic bags are highly recommended for player equipment and gear storage. All equipment not being used should be stored away in an athletic bag.
  • Players are required to place athletic bags/gear within designated space, during and in between play. 
  • Absolutely no outside shoes within squash court.
  • Avoid wiping hands on the inside and outside glass wall.
  • Players must sanitize their hands every time they come off the court.
  • Using soap and water, players should wash their hands before and after their court session, including sanitizing their hands after coming on or off the court.
  • When leaving the court, please leave racquet and balls inside the court, but not against the glass or wall, unless your court reservation has concluded.

Sisters Field:

  • All turf field reservations should be made using RecDesk. No in-person bookings are allowed. For field reservations, please visit our Nardin Academy RecDesk Community Site HERE

  • No cash transactions. Please use RecDesk to access your account and pay your balance prior to your reservation date.

  • Please limit all turf field reservations to a maximum of 25 individuals, including players, coaches, and trainers (if needed).

  • Absolutely no spectators on Sisters Field or in the building.

  • Groups should not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to their reservation, and must leave immediately following the conclusion of their booking. Reservations are 55 minutes to allow for this clean transition from one group to the next to take place.

  • Individuals must wear acceptable face coverings at all times, unless players are unable to tolerate a face covering for the physical activity (e.g. practicing, playing); provided, however, that coaches, trainers, and other individuals who are not directly engaged in physical activity are required to wear a face covering.

  • Please practice safe social distancing practices
