Swimming - K-8 Coed
Welcome to the Nardin Academy swim team! We are looking forward to helping your kids improve their aquatic skills, be a part of a team, and have FUN at the same time!
Nardin Academy is a proud participant in the Neumann Catholic Swim League(NCSL) – Division 2.
Our season begins in September and ends in mid-November with a Championship Meet. The team typically practices 2 days/week with meets on Sunday's. Our home pool is Clark Hall on the UB South Campus.
GUIDELINES & SWIM TESTING
Our team is open to ANY beginner, novice, or advanced swimmer in grades Kindergarten through 8th. We have three age groups:
8 and under; 9 & 10; 11 and older
Swim testing of all new swimmers will take place prior to the 1st team practice. In order to qualify for the team, the swimmer MUST be able to complete 1 full length of the pool (25 yards) in both freestyle and backstroke continuously without any coaching or assistance. While their strokes do not need to be proficient, swimmers demonstrate the basic formation of the freestyle and backstroke during the testing. In addition, swimmers must be able to complete an entire practice with their given peers.
There is a cutoff date for sign ups, it is two weeks after the opening date on FamilyID. The athletic department needs to know how many players are interested, so we can identify coaches, and have enough uniforms ready for all players and register with the different leagues. If you sign your child up after the cutoff date they will only be added to a team if there is room.
Valid Sports Medical Physical Form must also be on file with the School Nurse. If you do not have a valid Sports Physical Form call your child’s doctor. If your child’s medical form at the school is NOT valid you will be notified. The Medical Sports Physical Form is good for 1 year. If it is valid the first day of that sport’s practice it will be considered valid for that sport’s season.
