Nardin Junior Takes Silver Medal At Empire State Winter Games

Caroline Tierney, a Nardin Academy junior, took second place and the silver medal in the Intermediate Ladies Short Program at the 38th annual Empire State Winter Games in Lake Placid last month, representing the Amherst Skating Club. Her score qualifies her to compete in the State Games of America, an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold, silver, bronze) from across the nation in July 2019.

Caroline began skating through the Club's Learn To Skate Program as a third grader.

"We're extremely proud of Caroline," says Mary Sue Hardt, Amherst Skating Club director. "We're thrilled she learned to skate through our Learn To Skate program and has progressed so far in competition. We look forward to cheering her on at the State Games of America in 2019."

Congratulations, Caroline! We look forward to cheering you on next July!
