Exciting Close to Fall Sports Season

For Cross Country, Swim, Soccer and Volleyball, the Gators concluded their season in impressive fashion.

The Nardin cross country team showed total team domination by winning both the JV and Varsity races in the All-Catholic Championship. The varsity team scored 38 points, led by freshmen Mary Katherine Hartigan and Heidi Khuu's 4th and 5th place finishes. Juniors Ella Dileo, Maggie Cryan and Clare Cryan took 8th, 10th and 11th places, while seniors Grace VanVessem and Abby Graber closed out the varsity scoring in 13th and 18th place. The JV squad took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places! Kaitlyn Vogel, Hannah Rashad and Meredith Dirr led the way for the JV team. Alyssa Anderson (5th place), Micaiah Schlee (8th place), Natalie Backus (9th place) and Julia Lesakowski (12th place) rounded out the scoring as the JV team scored a tremendous 19 points! The team will send 7 members to race at the NYS Federation Championships on November 17th.

The Nardin swim team finished in 2nd place at the All-Catholic Meet. Individual winners include:

400 yd Freestyle Relay: 1st place - Nicole Marchese, Abby Gioia, Megan Jermak, Veronica Bargnesi
100 yd Backstroke: 1st place -Megan Jermak;
100 yd Freestyle: 1st place - Veronica Bargnesi
200 yd IM: 1st place - Megan Jermak

Megan Jermak qualified for the New York State Championship swim meet in the 100yd Backstroke for the 2nd year in a row.

In soccer, Abby Molloy has qualified for the All-Catholic 1st team, while Emily Den Haese, Shannon Graham, and Arielle Huber have all qualified for 2nd team.

Nardin volleyball defeated Nichols to advance to the Semifinals of the Monsignor Martin Championships, before losing a tough battle to eventual champions St. Mary's of Lancaster. Congratulations to volleyball on a great season and to Amanda Chmiel for being selected to the All-Catholic 2nd team.
