"The King and I" Nominated in 8 Kenny Award Categories

On Wednesday, April 17, the ten Kenny Award Finalist schools gathered at Shea's Smith Theatre as Shea's Performing Arts Center and The Lipke Foundation announced the nominees for the 2019 Kenny Awards, which will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The Kenny Awards recognizes outstanding musical productions at local high schools. Each year the ceremony in May is the culmination of a year-long program that honors and recognizes the talent, hard work and dedication of area students and faculty to high school musical theatre in Western New York.

Nardin has been nominated in the following categories for 2019:

Outstanding Orchestral Performance

Outstanding Technical Design

Outstanding Choral Performance

Outstanding Dramatic Performance

Rising Star: Special Recognition (for middle school students): Johnny Kiener

Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role: Mary Clare Noonan '20

Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role: Rob Dauria

Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role: Jessica Molle '19

Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role: Austin Marshall E'16

All ten Finalist schools are automatically nominated for Outstanding Musical Production and this year, The Lipke Foundation is doubling the grant award for the winning school to $10,000, money that can only be used for the theatre department.

The 26th Annual Kenny Awards ceremony will be held at Shea's on Saturday, May 11th at 6pm.
