Network Administrator

Definition:

Under the supervision of the Chief Technology Officer, the Network Administrator is required to perform technical duties to maintain the daily operations of Nardin Academy’s network  administration.   Additionally, this position provides support to a high volume, highly dynamic learning environment  with multiple applications and configurations. The Network Administrator also requires experience with planning and  installing and/or upgrading new software applications and the ability to resolve complex technical  and software problems. 

Nardin Academy’s environment includes and is not limited to Windows, Google Workspace for  Education, MacOS, iOS, and Chrome devices. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • 3 years of experience in network and application systems administration. Candidates with  K-12 and/or higher education support are encouraged to apply. 

  • Solid knowledge of Jamf, Google Workspace, GAM, Windows Server, DNS, Aruba Networks,  Clever, and PaperCut. 

  • Understanding of networking and infrastructure, including cabling, wireless, routing, and  network protocols.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Participates, contributes, and executes the planning, design implementation, and support  of a variety of complex applications and infrastructure related projects and upgrades. 

  • Provides support to field technicians with troubleshooting hardware and software  problems related to the academic learning environment. 

  • Provides support to field technicians with access, operation, and troubleshooting of  various software programs and network related problems to support all divisions of the  Academy.  

  • Implements, manages, and administers Active Directory, Google Workspace for  Education, and network file sharing. 

  • Actively participates as a member of the CTO’s Cybersecurity team that monitors and  manages threats within a swift timeframe as well as manages the protection of student data  privacy in compliance with state and federal laws.

  • Possesses strong troubleshooting abilities, including ability to diagnose an issue and  completely and efficiently resolve it with minimal downtime or disruption to the user. - Communicates effectively and successfully both orally and written with all constituents,  including vendors, support team members, and the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team.

  • Promotes cooperative and effective working relationships with others. 

  • Plans and executes systems maintenance, scheduled outages, and escalated technology  service requests. 

  • Demonstrates adaptability by organizing and prioritizing assigned tasks to meet  established schedules, timelines, and/or deadlines. 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; climbing and balancing, kneeling,  crouching, and reaching.  

  • Physical ability must be sufficient to lift a typical computer.
