Director of Alumni and Community Engagement

Nardin Academy is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Alumni and Community Engagement to lead a comprehensive strategy aimed at increasing the quality and frequency of connection between Nardin Academy alumni and their alma mater. For over 160 years, Nardin has provided educational excellence alongside a strong moral foundation for our students. Across our four schools and two campuses in the heart of the Elmwood Village, a dedicated faculty, an engaged student body and state-of-the-art facilities make Nardin a vibrant community to be a part of.

 

Working alongside the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and a growing Institutional Advancement team, the Director of Alumni and Community Engagement has responsibility for the organization, planning, and implementation of Nardin Academy’s program to stimulate alumni and community engagement and encourage participation in initiatives which contribute to the mission and growth of the Academy.  

                                                  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategically engage alumni through meaningful relationships, events, and volunteer opportunities.

  • Provide leadership to and enhance the engagement of the Nardin Alumni Advisory Board (NAAB).

  • Serve as the primary liaison to academy partners, including but not limited to Athletics, Enrollment Management, Diversity, Inclusion, and Opportunity, school Principals, and current families.

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive program dedicated to regional alumni chapters and alumni affinity groups.

  • Lead and execute all events and initiatives related to Reunion Weekend, including identifying and engaging class volunteers.

  • Serve as a member of the Prospect Management Team, carrying a portfolio of 15-20 alumni donors and prospects.

  • Educate graduating students about alumni programs and the importance of philanthropy.

  • Plan for and execute consistent alumni communications via print, email, and social media.

  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records, capturing biographical and career information.

  • Travel to, assist with, and attend a variety of Nardin Academy events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

  • Clearly and persuasively communicate, including written communication.

  • Appreciate and embrace a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

  • Engage in a collaborative, team-based approach to projects and problem solving.

  • Ability to be flexible, manage competing demands, and multitask in an organized manner.

  • Ability to attend evening and weekend events on occasion.

Experience and Qualifications:                                               

  • Bachelor's degree from post-secondary college or university.

  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising and/or non-profit work.

  • Advanced direct-solicitation and/or educational fundraising experience is preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is preferred
