Nardin Academy Montessori is accredited by both the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Middle States Association. The staff consists of teachers and a Montessori Director certified through AMS and/or the Association of Montessori International (AMI). In addition, there is a religion teacher certified in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd methodology, an After School Program coordinator, a full-time Montessori-trained Physical Education teacher, and an administrative assistant. Some of our classroom teachers also serve as Music or Second Language teachers.

The school follows the Montessori philosophy of education which holds that each child is a self-motivated learner. Our classroom environments provide opportunities for each child to reach his or her maximum potential through experiential learning. The Montessori learning materials are designed to be explored and repeated until mastered. The role of the Montessori teacher in the classroom is to design the environment, guide and facilitate the child's learning, act as a role model, and serve as a keen observer of the child's total development.

Nardin Academy Montessori, the first Montessori school in Western New York, was founded in 1963 by Irene Murphy, DHM. In 1998, the program expanded and moved to its new campus at 700 West Ferry Street, a short distance from Nardin's main campus on Cleveland Avenue. The facility is a three-story older home converted for school use, nestled in a wooded acre lot in an historic residential neighborhood.
