Elementary Program

The Nardin Montessori Elementary program is composed of multi-aged groupings of students in grades one through three. The Montessori Elementary curriculum is characterized by individualized instruction, small group lessons and long periods of uninterrupted work time. There are also opportunities to practice public speaking and performance skills. Students are given weekly homework packets to reinforce their class lessons. In addition to academic subjects, students participate in a well developed physical education program and have regular use of the media center.

Enriched Learning Experience

A student's experience in the Elementary classroom is enhanced by several unique opportunities. The classroom is home to a variety of animals, for whom the students are responsible caretakers. Each child also has the chance to plan, shop, and prepare lunch for his or her classmates. Gardening opportunities and numerous field trips also add to the Nardin Montessori education.

Transition to Fourth Grade

Teachers also give careful consideration to the transition of Montessori graduates into the Nardin elementary fourth grade classroom and put a focus on the preparation of these students. Steps are taken to ensure that the transition is easily made.
