Montessori Camp: A Summer of Expression and Exploration

June 10 - July 26

(Note: Camp is not in session the week of July 4th)

Half Day Option: 8am - 12pm OR Full Day Option: 8am - 3pm
Location: Montessori Oishei Campus, 700 West Ferry St.
For boys and girls ages 4 - entering 1st grade

Nardin Montessori's summer camp blends an appreciation for the arts and the world around us with the joys of physical exploration and creative, hands-on projects. Our program enriches the lives of our campers through guided art and craft creation and real life skills of woodworking, gardening and meal preparation. Children gain an appreciation of nature and connectedness to the earth through exploration of our two beautiful green play spaces throughout the day.

Before and After Care:
Before Care will be offered from 7:30am - 8am at a rate of $25 per week.
After Care will be offered from 3pm - 4:30pm at a rate of $65 per week.
AFTER CARE ONLY OFFERED WEEK 1 AND WEEK 2

Camp Cost: Half Day Option: $175/week or Full Day Option: $325/week

 

Gator Days Enrichment Camp

June 10 - June 21

Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Location: Main Campus, 135 Cleveland Ave.
For boys and girls entering 1st - 6th grade

Gator Days Enrichment Camp is the place to play and sing out loud to kickoff the summer season. In addition to food exploration, art, and technology, campers will immerse themselves in our Buffalo community through off-site field trips and neighborhood exploration in the Elmwood Village. Make new friends at Gator Days and savor all that is fun in the summertime!

New in 2019: Gator Days is now a 2-week camp (instead of a 3-week camp) and includes off-site field trips!

Before and After Care:
Before Care will be offered from 7:30am - 8:30am at a rate of $45 per week.
After Care will be offered from 3:30pm - 4:30pm at a rate of $45 per week.

Camp Cost: $250/week

 

Experience Nardin Summer Camp

July 8 - July 19

Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm; Monday - Thursday with optional Fun Friday
For girls entering 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades

Enjoy a glimpse into Nardin during two weeks of summer fun with morning workshops that include:
 
  • Art: Explore your artistic side in Nardin's beautiful and spacious art studios!
  • Creative Writing: Develop the art of storytelling and find your voice.
  • Theatre: Refine your skills as an actress through fun improv games, learning audition techniques and more!
  • Real Life Math/Science/Technology: Expand your culinary skills and discover how math and science relate to baking and cooking.
  • Photography: Explore the Elmwood Village and discover the magic of film photography and darkroom printing.
And that's just in the morning! Spend the afternoon exploring your passions by creating your own workshop based on your interests and talents.
 

Optional Fun Fridays include trips off-campus to build camaraderie and make new friends. Past Fun Fridays include trips to Darien Lake and Cave of the Winds in Niagara Falls State Park.

Camp Cost: $450 (one-week options available on registration page; there will be an additional cost for optional Fun Fridays)

 

Lego Camp

July 22 - July 26

Time: 9am - 3pm
Location: Main Campus, 135 Cleveland Ave.
For boys and girls entering Kindergarten - 5th grade
(Students will be grouped developmentally by age and ability level throughout the workshops)

Idea Builders Lego Club is coming to Nardin Academy this summer for a week of Party in the USA with Legos!

NYS certified teachers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for your K-5 child during our week-long camp. This camp will provide a fun and creative approach to interdisciplinary learning. Each day will include thematic lessons, learning games, building challenges, and model building. Children will have the unique opportunity to continue to work on their creations over a five day period. During this workshop, your child will have access to further their learning about a topic, use their knowledge to inspire Lego building, draft narratives, present their work, be creative, and make new friends. Additionally, your child will have an opportunity to participate in many Lego games that may relate to the different areas, landmarks, and cities of the wondrous United States of America. Activities include arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and outdoor play. If you love Legos and building, join us this summer for a week of Lego fun!

Before and After Care:

Before Care will be offered from 8:30am - 9am at a rate of $25 per week.
After Care will be offered from 3pm - 4:30pm at a rate of $50 per week.

Fun Fundamentals

July 29 - August 2

Time: 9am - 12pm
Location: Main Campus, 135 Cleveland Ave.
For boys and girls entering the Kindergarten year in September 2019

Meet new friends in this Phonemes Program designed to increase reading readiness skills through dance and song. Each day includes singing, dancing, art, performances and outdoor play. Families will be invited to a special performance on the last day of camp.

Camp Cost: $250

Girls Basketball Camp

July 24 - 26

Time: 9am - 4pm
Location: Main Campus, 135 Cleveland Ave.
For girls entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades

Join us for a 3 day basketball camp led by varsity basketball coach, Janessa Vandegriff. The camp will focus on all aspects of the game including individual skill development, game strategy, competition, and the development of a healthy team attitude. Each girl will advance her skills through individual instruction, group instruction, and game experience.

Camp Cost: $150

 

NFL Flag Football Camp

July 29 - August 2

Time: 9:30am - 11:30am
Location: Nardin Academy Athletic Center, 1803 Elmwood Ave.
For boys and girls ages 5 - 12

(This camp is held in partnership with KidsPlay of WNY)
 

NFL Flag Football is non-contact football with primary emphasis placed on the development of passing, receiving, running, and coverage skills. There is no blocking or tackling in NFL Flag; the game is strictly "no contact" focusing on skill development, learning and having fun playing football. An NFL team-oriented reversible football jersey and flag belt is included in the fee.

Middle School Squash Camp

August 5 - 9

Time: 9am - 12pm
Location: Nardin Academy Athletic Center, 1803 Elmwood Ave.
For boys and girls entering grades 5 - 8

The Nardin Academy Athletic Center is proud to be offering co-ed squash camps for elementary students. Led by Nardin Academy's new Head Squash Professional, Asad Khan, players of all levels will have the opportunity to develop their game in a fun and challenging atmosphere. With 7 international courts, players will learn technique and strategy, while also practicing in one-on-one matches. If you have equipment, the coaches encourage you to bring it with you, otherwise equipment will be provided.

Camp Cost: $150

 

High School Squash Camp

August 12 - 16

Time: 9am - 12pm
Location: Nardin Academy Athletic Center, 1803 Elmwood Ave.
For boys and girls entering grades 9 - 12

Chess and Computer Camps

USA Chess Camp

July 15 - 19

Time: Half Day Option: 9am - 12pm/1 - 4pm OR Full Day Option: 9am - 4pm
Location: Main Campus, 135 Cleveland Avenue
For boys and girls ages 5 - 16

Whether your child is a casual chess player or tournament participant, this exciting enrichment camp will improve every child's game. Camp instructors use a range of teaching tools including demo boards, computer tutorials, worksheets, stories and historic games to keep class time exciting. Each half-day consists of two hour-long chess lessons tailored to the ability of the children and one hour of practice to play against other students and instructors. USA Chess camps are a perfect way to give children a fun week of learning chess while challenging their minds! All campers receive a chess set, notation book, t-shirt and trophy!

Minecraft Camp

July 15 - 19

Time: Half Day Option: 9am - 12pm/1 - 4pm
For boys and girls ages 7 - 16

Minecraft is popular because it’s collaborative, open-ended and moddable. Our program preserves those qualities and adds a large dose of fun! The week begins with learning the game, controls, recipes and a bit about hosting & networking. Next campers are connecting to different worlds hosted on our secure server and experimenting with character skins, mods and custom maps. By day three, the kids are building in the Active Learning World that grows over time. Whether adding a room, building a moat or even creating a chessboard the possibilities are nearly limitless. This is a half-day program. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.

Video Game Design Camp - Platform Style

July 15 - 19

Time: Half Day Option: 9am - 12pm/1 - 4pm
For boys and girls ages 8 - 16, Introductory to Intermediate

In this camp children build a game described as a "platform" game like Sonic or Mario. Children have a blast as their characters do the impossible, overcome obstacles and enemies and then conquer the Big Boss. The character progresses on a long path (like a journey) with the background scrolling behind it and adversaries, prizes, obstacles, are encountered as it goes. Lessons on the basics will be similar to the Arcade course in the very beginning, but the class diverges and different programming techniques are taught in order to build this Platform game. This is a half-day program. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.

Video Game Design Camp - Kodu Adventure Style

July 15 - 19

Time: Half Day Option: 9am - 12pm/1 - 4pm
For boys and girls ages 8 - 16, Introductory to Intermediate

Children will have the option of creating a video game on a Microsoft computer or learning how to program using a Microsoft Xbox controller! Students will create their own cool custom world and navigate through it. Within this world they will create tasks that need to be completed in order to progress to the next level. Some of those tasks include escaping a maze created by the student, a survival mode, outwitting rivals, creating decoys and collecting bonus items! This is a half-day camp. Xbox controller is optional and supplied by the student. Students can add an additional program to make it a full day camp.
