Camp Forms 2017

Montessori Camp: A Summer of Fine Arts

June 12 - July 28
Half Day Option 8am - 12pm OR Full Day Option 8am - 3pm
For boys and girls ages 4 - entering 1st grade

(Note: Camp is not in session the week of July 4th)

Guided by outstanding faculty and guest speakers, children will explore a wide spectrum of performing and visual arts. Campers will engage in painting, drawing, sculpture, theater, music, dance, and culinary arts.

Before and After Care: Before Care will be offered from 7:30am - 8am at a rate of $25 per week.
After Care will be offered from 3pm - 4:30pm at a rate of $65 per week.

Camp Cost: Half Day Option: $175/week or Full Day Option: $325/week
(Discounts will be offered to families who enroll in all six weeks)

Fun Fundamentals

July 31 - August 9
Time: 9am - 12pm
For boys and girls entering the Kindergarten year in 2017-18

Kindergarten readiness, singing, dancing, art, performances and outdoor play. Each day, a group of letters/sounds will be explored through: singing, dancing, art, outdoor play/gym and performance. Families will be invited to a special performance on the last day.

Gator Days Enrichment Camp

June 12 - June 30
Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
For boys and girls entering 1st - 6th grade

A fun, interactive, and updated camp with opportunities for art, computers, science exploration, textile creations, outdoor play, athletics, swimming, drama, music, dance and more! Enjoy making new friends and exploring new experiences on our Cleveland Avenue campus.

Before and After Care: Before Care will be offered from 7:30am - 8:30am at a rate of $45 per week.
After Care will be offered from 3:30pm - 4:30pm at a rate of $45 per week.

Camp Cost: $250/week


Experience Nardin Summer Camp

July 10 - July 21, 2017
Time: 9am - 12pm (or 1:30pm with extended hour of review)
For girls entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades

Enjoy a glimpse into Nardin and the experience you would have here as a student! Meet new friends while engaging in hands-on, academically-minded activities. Each student will participate in all 6 activities if they are with us for the two weeks. Relax in yoga, throw on the wheel in Art, explore the wonders of Science, become your favorite character in Theater, plan for real life in Math, and imagine and create in Creative Writing with technology integrated into the different experiences as appropriate.

Girls entering 8th grade have the opportunity to stay until 1:30pm for an extended hour of Entrance Exam Review, which includes a Practice Exam on July 20.

Camp Cost: $225/week; $50/week for extended hour of review (Discounts offered to girls who register for both weeks!)

Lego Camp

July 24 - July 28
Time: 9am - 3pm
For boys and girls entering Kindergarten - 5th grade

Idea Builders Lego Club is coming to Nardin Academy this summer for a week of Around the World with Legos! Our NYS certified teachers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for your K-5 child during our week-long camp. This camp will provide a fun and creative approach to interdisciplinary learning. Each day will include thematic lessons, learning games, building challenges, and model building. Children will have the unique opportunity to continue to work on their creations over a five day period. During this workshop, your child will have access to further their learning about a topic, use their knowledge to inspire Lego building, draft narratives, present their work, be creative, and make new friends. Additionally, your child will have opportunity to participate in many Lego games with origins around the globe, which include arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and outdoor play. If you love Legos, join us this summer for a week of Around the World Lego fun!

Minecraft Camp

July 10 -14
Time: 9am - 12pm
For boys and girls entering 1st - 6th grade

Minecraft has taken our youth by storm, but did you know that Minecraft has great potential to be academically significant? In our Stutelage Minecraft camp, children will have the opportunity to explore caves, create landscape models, and learn about real-life mining. We will have a virtual conversation with a computer programmer and use Minecraft blocks to discuss area and perimeter. Don’t miss out on baking Rice Krispie treat blocks, using archery skills to hunt for dinner and making your own pickaxe!

Wilderness Explorers

July 17 - July 21
Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
For boys and girls entering 4th - 7th grades

Muddy hands, grass stained knees, and smiles abound in this camp as students become immersed in a new world of excitement, learning and fun while exploring the outdoors! Daily field trips include Artpark, Beaver Island State Park, Eighteen Mile Creek Park, Franklin Gulf Country Park, and Buffalo Ski Club allowing campers to explore habitats, birds, reptiles, amphibians, creek ecology, woodland plants and learn outdoor skills. After a week of expeditions, students will take part in a celebratory cookout. Cost includes bus transportation daily. Run in partnership between Nardin Academy and Earth Spirit Education Services, Inc.

Girls Soccer Program

July 9 - August 13 (Sundays only)
Time: 10am - 12pm (grades 5/6) OR 12pm - 2pm (grades 7/8)
For girls entering 5th - 8th grades

The summer soccer program at the Nardin Academy Athletic Center provides young girls with the opportunity to learn, practice, and develop their soccer skills into becoming well-rounded players. Guided by a well experienced coaching staff, players will receive personal and in-depth instruction, focusing on technique and tactics, in a fun and exciting environment. Click to register.

NFL Flag Football Camp

July 24 - 28 (ages 5-8) or August 14 - 18 (ages 9-12)
Time: 9:30am - 11:30am
For boys and girls ages 5-8 (July camp) or ages 9-12 (August camp)

NFL Flag Football is non-contact football with primary emphasis placed on the development of passing, receiving, running, and coverage skills. There is no blocking or tackling in NFL Flag; the game is strictly "no contact" with primary emphasis placed on skill development, learning and having fun playing football. An NFL team-oriented reversible football jersey and flag belt is included in the fee. Registration is limited to 24 spots. Click to register.

Boys Soccer Camp

For boys entering grades 5 - 8

Middle School Squash Camp

August 7 - 11

The Nardin Academy Athletic Center is proud to be offering co-ed squash camps for elementary students. Guided by a well-experienced coaching staff, players of all levels will have the opportunity to develop their game in a fun and challenging atmosphere. Girls Softball Camp

August 21 - 25
Time: 9am - 12pm
For girls entering grades 5 - 8

The girls summer softball camp at the Nardin Academy Athletic Center provides young girls with the opportunity to learn, practice, and develop their softball skills into becoming well-rounded players. On the turf field and in the new batting cage, players will receive in-depth instruction in hitting, fielding, base running, technique, and strategy by our well-experienced coaching staff. Chess Camp

July 17 - July 21
For boys and girls ages 5 - 16

This summer USA Chess is offering our exciting and entertaining chess camp at more than 100 locations nationwide. USA Chess is the largest and premier chess camp organizer for children in the United States. The staff is comprised of the finest children's chess instructors in North America. Registration options include mornings, afternoon and all-day sessions. Campers experience chess instruction and play in a fun filled environment designed to improve their skills whether they are interested in casual or competitive chess. Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft

July 17 - July 21
For boys and girls ages 8 - 16

Minecraft is popular because it's collaborative, open-ended and moldable. Our program preserves those qualities and adds a large dose of fun! The week begins with learning the game, controls, recipes and a bit about hosting and networking. Next, campers are connecting to different worlds hosted on our secure server and experimenting with character skins, mods and custom maps. By day three, the kids are building in the Active Learning World that grows over time. Whether adding a room, building a moat or even creating a chessboard the possibilities are nearly limitless. Video Game Creation - 3D Concepts

July 17 - July 21
For boys and girls ages 9 - 16 (Intermediate to Advanced)

Children with prior experience with GameMaker software or are at least 10 years old will learn the principles used in making 3D style games while creating their own "home base defense games." Lessons include the principles of perspective, scale, infinity and other concepts. Students are challenged while allowing them to creativity apply their GameMaker skills and learn how game designers make the 2D computer screen "come to life" with 3D effects. Kodu Video Game Creation - Adventure

July 17 - July 21
For boys and girls ages 7 - 16

Children will have the option of learning how to program using a Microsoft Xbox controller! Students will create their own cool custom world and navigate through it. Within this world they will create tasks that need to be completed in order to progress to the next level. Some of those tasks include escaping a sewer maze, survival mode, outwitting rivals, creating decoys and collecting bonus items all while having fun! This is a half-day camp.
